Days out

Edinburgh is a wonderful base for exploring much of Scotland - there’s a lot to see within an hour or two’s drive of the capital. Here are some suggestions for a few day’s out:

Linlithgow - info about this historic town located to the west of Edinburgh
Stirling - great site about Stirling and surrounding areas, not to mention information about other places to visit further afield.
New Lanark - fully-restored 18th Century cotton mill and village
East Lothian - this is where we live and work - and we love it! A beautiful place just east of Edinburgh and well worth a visit - even has a distillery!
St Andrews - this ancient city is in the North East Neuk of Fife, about ninety minutes’ leisurely drive from Edinburgh. I went to University in this town and loved it to death. Please visit - it’s wonderful!
